Michael Crotty is a nonbinary artist from Roselle, IL who decided to pursue a Bachelor’s in Arts at Northern Illinois University. In order for Mikey to support themself through college they worked in the residential dormitories as a Community Advisor for two years and as a Desk Assistant for one.  While attending NIU they found their passion in the fields of Drawing and, once they took an introduction class for it, Printmaking. They often explore the topics of gender identity and mental health in their works, their goal is to try to express what they have dealt with through art. Mikey also enjoys experimenting with different printmaking and drawing techniques in order to expand their knowledge. In the future they hope to be able to continue developing their artistic skills.
